At Kung Fu Kids, we strive to teach children to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. But this value isn’t just something we teach in class—it’s a cornerstone of how we live as a family.
Today, I want to share something personal with you. My wife, Sifu Liz, and I are incredibly proud of our daughter, Keira, for the way she’s embraced this goal of helping others in big ways. Even though she’s only 16, Keira has already accomplished so much and is determined to leave a positive mark on the world.
Keira’s journey began with her passion for storytelling. She has written and published two Amazon best selling children’s science books: Marinara & Alfredo: How Do Ouchies Heal? and How Do Rainbows Work? These books simplify complex concepts in a fun and engaging way, helping young readers explore the world around them. But for Keira, it’s about more than just writing books—it’s about inspiring curiosity and empowering children to see that learning can be exciting and meaningful.
She didn’t stop there. Keira took the initiative to bring her books into classrooms and libraries, reading to kids and sharing her enthusiasm for science. Most recently, she hosted a free writer’s workshop at our local library, encouraging other young people to follow their dreams of writing and publishing stories.
And as if that weren’t enough, Keira has joined forces with organizations like Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital to screen animated versions of her books to patients, and BrainStars to continue creating educational content that makes learning accessible and fun. Her goal? To change the world, one young mind at a time.
Sifu Liz and I couldn’t be prouder. Seeing Keira step up to make such a meaningful impact on her community—at such a young age—reinforces why we do what we do here at Kung Fu Kids. Whether through martial arts or the power of a good story, we believe that every child has the potential to grow into someone who can change the world for the better.
