Recently, I was reflecting on the things I am thankful for, and one thought kept coming to mind: the incredible partnerships we’ve built to make martial arts accessible to more families. These collaborations remind me why I started Kung Fu Kids in the first place—to bring the benefits of martial arts to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
One of these partnerships is with Ocean Grove Charter School, which supports homeschooling families. As an official Ocean Grove vendor, we’ve been able to offer martial arts classes to families who might not otherwise have had the means to join. Seeing the excitement on a child’s face as they step into their first class—knowing this opportunity was made possible through the program—is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
I’m also incredibly proud of our work with Ritz FMS (Family Management Services), an organization dedicated to connecting families and individuals with disabilities to inclusive opportunities. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to grow our Spectrum Stars program, designed for children on the autism spectrum. It’s amazing to watch these kids develop confidence, improve motor skills, and make connections in an environment tailored just for them.
These partnerships remind me of the power of community and collaboration. They allow us to serve a diverse group of students, fostering a culture of inclusivity and acceptance. Every time I see a child grow stronger, braver, and more confident, I’m reminded of how fortunate we are to have these connections.
To everyone who has supported these efforts—thank you. Together, we’re creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
