One of the most rewarding ways we give back to our community is by teaching self-defense to Girl Scouts. This opportunity not only aligns with our mission but also speaks deeply to me as a father who believes in empowering girls to feel confident and safe in any situation.
Every year, we partner with Girl Scout troops to teach self-defense classes as part of their badge-earning journey. These sessions are about more than just physical techniques—they’re about building resilience, confidence, and a sense of preparedness.
The statistics are sobering: one in three people will face a violent assault at some point in their lives, and one in four girls will experience sexual assault by the time they graduate college. These numbers are a stark reminder of why these skills are so critical, and it’s an honor to help address this need.
Some of my favorite memories come from these sessions. I remember teaching a group of over 100 Girl Scouts at once—it was electrifying! The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm they brought to the training were incredible. To manage such a large group, I brought in assistant instructors, and together, we turned it into a powerful, fun, and unforgettable experience.
What I love most is that these troops often invite us back year after year. It’s heartwarming to see familiar faces and know that we’re making a lasting impact. And to ensure these classes are accessible, we always offer a discounted rate for Girl Scouts.
For me, these classes are about planting seeds of strength and confidence. Watching these young girls leave with smiles on their faces, heads held high, and a new set of life skills is one of the most fulfilling parts of what we do.
Thank you for supporting a community where every child, especially young girls, can thrive and feel empowered.
