At Kung Fu Kids, teamwork isn’t just a buzzword—it’s the backbone of everything we do. Our instructors embody the true meaning of collaboration, stepping up for one another and ensuring that no challenge is too great for us to handle as a team.
Recently, we had a situation that really showed the strength of our team. A wave of illnesses swept through our instructor group, which isn’t uncommon when working with kids and being exposed to all the germs they bring. On some days, more than half of our team was under the weather. It could have been a disaster—but instead, it became a powerful example of how much we support each other.
Instructors filled in for their teammates without hesitation, even coming in on their days off or stepping in from other locations to help. We had team members driving from Pleasanton to Palo Alto, or from San Jose to Pleasanton, just to ensure classes could run smoothly. There were no complaints or feelings of resentment—just a shared understanding that we’re all in this together.
Even within classes, our team found ways to adapt. If someone wasn’t feeling 100%, their colleagues would step up, taking on the more active roles while allowing the person who was feeling a little tired to handle quieter, but equally important, tasks. This level of cooperation ensures that every student continues to have a fantastic experience, no matter what’s happening behind the scenes.
Our teamwork extends beyond day-to-day operations. Whether it’s planning big events like our Monster Hunt or refining our curriculum, everyone contributes their ideas and expertise. We’ve built a culture where every voice matters, and that sense of collaboration allows us to deliver the best possible experience for our students and their families.
I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built here. Their dedication, adaptability, and genuine care for one another make Kung Fu Kids not just a workplace, but a community.
